Waulkers Loan
Up to 200 homes on 9 hectares of green belt at Waulkers Loan, beside Eaglesham Primary School and the conservation village.
What’s proposed
TODO: Describe where the site is in words people know. Check against the council’s framework drawing.
What we know so far:
- Up to 200 homes, with Taylor Wimpey named as developer (The Eaglesham Echo, 2 September 2026). TODO: confirm in the plan.
- The site covers about 9 hectares on the council’s map. All of it is green belt in the current plan (LDP2).
- It sits beside Eaglesham Primary School, on the edge of the Eaglesham Conservation Area.
- The plan’s maps link a new 3G multi-use games area (MUGA) to serve the primary school to this site (LP6.6). They also show an enhanced green network (SP2.21) and community growing space with an orchard (LP5.21).
History
TODO: The group understands this site was not taken forward in the previous plan (LDP2). Confirm this, add the source (LDP2 examination report or council papers), and explain why it was left out then.
What the plan says
TODO: Quote the Proposed LDP3 briefly, with the page number.
